Top Movies to be Excited About the Rest of the Year!

Well it is now officially September and the summer blockbuster movie season is over. Boooo! Gone are all the exciting, flashy and explosive movies. (Although this year's summer movies were a little disappointing on the whole...) We are heading into what most would consider Oscar bait movie season but fear not we still have a few gems to look forward to for the remainder of 2016! So here is my list of movies that I'm still super pumped for this fall and winter!

The Magnificent Seven (Sept 23)

It isn't often we get a western movie these days so when one comes along I get pretty excited especially when it stars two of my all time favorite actors Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt! That's a whole lot of charm and charisma on screen. This is another remake of the 1960's Magnificent Seven which itself was a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai both of which I have sadly not seen yet. The movie's about a group of, you guessed it, seven outlaws being enlisted to help protect a town from an army of industrialists. Should be fun!

The Girl on the Train (Oct 7)

This is an adaptation of the best selling book that I see everywhere I go. The cover is literally burned into my head which is unfortunately the most boring cover in the world. I haven't read the book myself but after seeing the trailer for this movie I was sold. This looks like one crazy and thrilling movie with a mystery that I legitamately want to see how it ends. Reminds me a lot of Gone Girl which I loved.

The Accountant (Oct 14)

The Accountant is another movie I had no idea about but was won over by the trailer. It stars Ben Affleck as a forensic account for criminal organzations who finds himself being chased by his criminal clients and the government. For what ever reason he's an accountant with an insane arsenal of guns and can shoot stuff like a super spy which makes me want to go see it!

Doctor Strange (Nov 4)

The next entry in the awesome Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange will finally dive into the realm of magical superheroes in the Marvel universe. With Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange you really can't go wrong there. The trailers have looked incredible so far with a crazy display reality and dimension bending effects I honestly can't wait to see the Sorcerer Supreme on the big screen and hopefully down the line join the Avengers!!!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Nov 18)

It's been five years since The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 and this year we saw the release of the Cursed Child "book" and now we get to return to the wizarding world of Harry Potter films in a spin off story based on the side book of the same title following the exploits of magical beasts handler Newt Scamander played the great Eddie Redmayne. It's another Harry Potter movie that alone should really be all you need to be excited for this movie!

Moana (Nov 23)

DIsney has been on a massive roll this year with Zootopia, The Jungle Book, and FInding Dory and Moana is the final movie this year for them. Marking the 56th animated feature by Disney Animation Studios and their next in what I like to call the "Disney Princess Movies" because you know Moana is going to be added to the Disney Princess roster after this. Will this do as well as Frozen? I doubt it but this movie looks gorgeous with the tropical setting and I can't wait to hear the songs that I know I'll be singing for the rest of my life!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! (Dec 16)

Last but certainly not least is the first Star Wars movie in the anthology spin off series, Rogue One. I am so freaking happy the we get a Star Wars movie every year now, honestly its a dream come true and a great way to tide us all over until Episode VIII next year! This movie tells the story of what happened between episodes III and IV. How the Rebel Alliance managed to steal the Death Star plans and get them to Princess Leia which is what kicked off this whole adventure back in 1977! I for one am excited for this movie not just because it's a Star Wars movie but it legitmately looks awesome! To see the classic ships and designs on screen will be treat! The trailers are incredible in that it give you sense of a gritty war movie rather than the usual fantasy anventure movie the main series gives us! Also Darth Vader!!!!

So there you have it! The movies I am most looking forward to the rest of 2016! It should be great and I think it might end up being better than the summer was with so many stinkers and disappointments we had this year up till now. Hope you get a chance to go see these with weather getting colder and darker it should be a perfect escape! Let me know in the comments what movies you're all looking forward to this fall and winter!
